This year, we are excited to introduce two returning Big Read team members, as well as one new addition! All three of these wonderful ladies are excited to introduce themselves to you and bring you some wonderful books and exciting events during this year’s programming.

Meet Arayah

Arayah is a senior studying Secondary English Education and Psychology. Outside of academics, Arayah is a member of the Hope College Track & Field team. In her free time, she loves to spend time with friends and family, go to the beach, and hike. She also likes nothing more than to curl up with a blanket, some tea, and a good book.

Arayah is a returning member of the Big Read team and is this year’s student manager. Her favorite part of the Big Read is the community involvement. She loves how this program brings schools, libraries, and community members together to share in a collective love of reading. She is most looking forward to the many amazing events that are happening this year.

Arayah loves the Big Read and is so excited for all the amazing things that are going to happen this year!

Meet Maggie

Maggie Hartman is a Senior at Hope this year. She is a secondary social studies education student with minors in history and ESL. On campus, she is one of the directors for Volunteer Services, which is a volunteer group on campus, in addition to being on the Big Read team!

Outside of college life, she has a flower business that keeps me pretty busy, but when she has time for herself, nothing is better than sitting outside with a good book!

This year, she is most excited about the Middle Read book and some of the awesome events that are being planned. She is super excited for the community to find out more in a few months!

Meet Haley

Haley Pangborn is a Junior at Hope College this year. She is a Secondary English Education major with a minor in Special Education LD. Outside of school, Haley is involved in Greek Life and is a member of the Alpha Gamma Phi sorority.

In her spare time, she loves to paint, go for walks, and watch TV. She loves hanging out with her friends, dabbles in photography, and reads! Her favorite book is The Three Musketeers.

This year, she is most excited about the amazing events we have planned, as well as connecting with community members who love our programming as much as she does.

All three of these wonderful team members are so excited for this year’s programming. They cannot wait to share the amazing books, authors, and events with the community! The members of the Big Read team invite you to follow along with the blog, our newsletter, and social media outlets in order to be fully involved with their programming.
