In partnership with the NEA Big Read Lakeshore, join our friends at Cultureworks to celebrate the biodiversity of the Galápagos Islands and look at ocean conservation and preservation in the context of Nathaniel Philbrick’s In the Heart of the Sea. Inuit artists who live in close connection to the ocean have preserved history, legend, and beauty through carvings and lithographs of animals and birds. We’ll draw artistic inspiration from the imaginative work of modern Inuit graphic artists such as Kenojuak Ashevak, as we design and cut our own stencils for screen printing in this workshop. This workshop is for readers ages 8th grade to adult and costs $20 per person.
