Book discussion: Door of No Return

Join a public discourse and discussion of Kwame Alexander’s book, Door of No Return, led by local author and educator, Dana VanderLugt. Some Zeeland High School students have been reading this book which describes, in verse, a tale of an African family in Ghana in 1860. Come ready to learn about and discuss the experiences of Africans before they walked through that “door of no return” and were shipped to America and the impact of the use of poetry to tell this story.
