Voices of Immigration: Muskegon’s Story

October 9 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm UTC-4

Join us for an event about immigration in Muskegon County! It’s a big topic in the news today, and we’ll learn about how it’s impacted Muskegon County throughout history and what’s happening now. Imagine a big, colorful quilt – that’s the story of immigration in Muskegon! Meet people who came here to make it their new home and hear why they made that amazing journey. MCC Anthropology Professor Evin Rodkey will explain why people move around the world in the first place. Hear from Read Muskegon and Centro de Esperanza, who know a lot about what’s happening with immigration right now in our community. Finally, chat with people from right here in Muskegon who know all about what it’s like to move to a new place. This is your chance to learn more about the stories and reasons why people come to Muskegon County. Don’t miss it! Registration required. Registration is open from Sept 11 @ 6 pm to Oct 9 @ 6 pm and can be found on the MADL website.
