The West Michigan Jewels of Africa, a Grand Rapids drum and dance corps, will kick off MADL’s NEA Big Read Lakeshore initiative with the book Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, and open our fall Live at the Library season. You won’t want to miss this group’s colorful costumes, energetic dancing, and infectious drumming.
