Our young artists will work with local art educators and library staff to develop both individual and group projects. A final\, collaborative art piece will be unveiled on November 7 at a special celebration and will be displayed at the North Branch Library. Registration required at herrickdl.org/events starting Sept. 19. Artists are required to attend the majority of sessions and complete project assignments. Space is limited. Funding for the series is made possible in part by a grant from the Michigan Humanities\, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Hear their stories\, learn about the heroes who inspire them\, and take part in a historic heroes’ scavenger hunt and other family-friendly activities. Meet heroes Holland Fire Marshal Bret Groendyke\, Sarah Yore-Van Oosterhout from Lighthouse Immigration Advocates\, Veteran Russ Miller\, I AM Academy Directors and educators Lindsay and Henry Cherry\, Brianna Miranda from the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan\, as well as staff and volunteers from the Herrick Public Library\, Latin Americans United for Progress (LAUP) and the Harbor Humane Society. Visitors can be a hero by adopting an animal from the Harbor Humane Society that evening! This event is sponsored by the Meijer Foundation.
